Join the Port Townsend Community Orchestra for its first concert of the 2010-2011 season on Saturday, October 30 at 7:30 PM – at the Chimacum High School Auditorium. Concerts are free! Come at 6:45 to enjoy a pre-concert conversation with Maestro Dewey Ehling. The orchestra will be accepting food donations on behalf of the local Food Bank; contributions are welcome.
The guest artist is renowned local pianist Lisa Lanza, who will perform with the Orchestra Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor. Lisa has won awards for her solo performances of Beethoven and Chopin. She recently studied with French music specialist Paul Roberts at the Guildhall School of Music in London and with the renowned pianist Maria Joao Pires in Portugal. Her solo performances include concerts at The Seattle Art Museum, The Frye Museum, The Bloedel Reserve and The Olympic Music Festival as well as her popular Rose Theatre recital.
In the second half of the program the Orchestra will perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 in F Major.
