From 1901 to 1950 is the music of Victor Herbert, Leroy Anderson, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Richard Rodgers (Carousel Waltz), and Virgil Thomson. Musical highlights of 1950 to 1999 are Burt Bacharach, Aaron Copland, Marvin Hamlisch, Lerner and Loewe, Claude-Michel Schönberg (Les Misérables), and Andrew Lloyd Webber (Cats).
The Port Townsend Community Orchestra was formed in 1987. Orchestra members are your friends, neighbors, and co-workers--the people you see and work with every day in your community. They are also musicians who volunteer their time to play together each week, and their goal is to give you beautiful music to enjoy.
Port Townsend Community Orchestra offers four concerts a year: in October, December, February and April. There is no admission fee so that everyone, children included, can attend. The orchestra is supported by contributions from its patrons and from local businesses. Donations are also welcome at the door.
